A new, bigger galvanizing bath has just been installed in our Galco Waterford plant. Thanks to the new upgrade, we can now deliver an even better galvanizing service to the South East region.
The new tank, which measures 6.5 m by 1.5 m by 2.65 m, increases our Waterford plant capacity by 70%. – We’ve also replaced the furnace using the latest technology in Furnace design and direct-fired Gas Burner design – says Terry Hinds, Galco Group Operations Director. – The new plant and equipment meet the highest standards of Environmental and Health and Safety compliance with a new bag filter system and in-built safety systems.
Ongoing investment across our 5 Irish plants is a key priority in Galco’s overall growth strategy, and this new bath will enable the team at Galco Group to deliver a high-quality service to their customers throughout the region for years to come.
The new, increased length will allow longer steel sections to be dipped without the requirement of double-dipping, improving efficiency and quality – adds Cheryl Cusack, Waterford plant manager. – This new galvanizing bath will make a big difference to the volume of work Galco can carry out in the future.
As an organization, we are always looking to identify new processes and systems to enhance our products and services. Due to the specific technological components of this upgrade, Galco Waterford and Galco Cork will be able to provide a better and higher quality Galvanizing service to the South East and the general Munster region.
