Mount Merrion Duplex Project

Galco recently completed another successful duplex protection project for Marcus P. Graham Ironworks, supplying treated steel elements for a new apartment complex in Mount Merrion. In total, six tonnes of steel were hot dip galvanized and finished with Galvacoat paint.

The project demanded a highly durable and visually consistent finish across all steel elements. The steel needed robust, long-term protection against corrosion and had to meet strict aesthetic standards to complement the modern architectural design.

Solution: Duplex System

Galco recommended a full duplex system to meet these requirements. First, all steel components were hot dip galvanized, forming a thick, protective zinc layer. They were then coated with Galvacoat paint, delivering a tough, uniform finish in RAL 7016 (anthracite grey).

This duplex system offers outstanding corrosion resistance while maintaining the structure’s visual appeal for years to come.

All stages – from galvanizing to painting – were completed at Galco’s facilities, ensuring full quality control and on-time delivery.

Durable Protection with a Premium Finish

The steel elements were delivered hot dip galvanized, coated, and installation-ready. Thanks to the duplex system, the Mount Merrion apartments will benefit from exceptional corrosion protection and a long-lasting, attractive finish with minimal maintenance required.
