Galvanizing & Fire Protection at Delgany Site

Galco recently supported Brendan Buggy Steel Fabrication (BBSF) on a new D/RES Properties development in Delgany. Our role: delivering a duplex coating solution that ensures both long-term corrosion protection and certified fire resistance.

Steel failures due to rust or heat exposure aren’t just frustrating — they’re costly and potentially dangerous.

Standard coatings often fall short on high-spec projects where safety and durability are non-negotiable. You need steel that performs under pressure, from harsh coastal weather to extreme fire conditions.

That’s precisely what we delivered in Delgany.  The structural steel was fully hot dip galvanized to provide long-term corrosion protection.

It was then blasted to SA 2.5 and primed with Sherwin-Williams C400.

Finally, it was coated with Sherwin-Williams FX2003 for a 60-minute fire rating, and finished with Topcoat M71V2 for added durability and a smooth appearance.

This combination, known as a duplex system, dramatically increases the life of the steel while reducing maintenance demands and ensuring a clean, professional finish.

Here’s what makes the difference:

Together, they offer enhanced durability and peace of mind — no compromises.
